About Hospital
- Maharaja Agrasen Hospital was established on 15.08.1991 under the auspices of Maharaja Agrasen Hospital Charitable Trust, Punjabi Bagh New Delhi. This Trust was founded in 1980 by some prominent handful of donors of the Society with the main objective to give free medical aid to every deserving human being irrespective of caste, creed and religion. It also aims to set up, manage and organize Hospitals, Dispensaries, Charitable Institutions and Medical Institutions and to provide training for Doctors, Nurses and Para-Medical staff for achieving objectives of the Trust.
- First project of this Trust in the name of “Maharaja Agrasen Hospital” Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi was commenced on 15th August 1991. Hospital was started with a humble beginning of 65 beds and within a short span of 26 years this hospital has reached to the stage of 400 bedded multi-super specialty catering to the population of not only Delhi but also from the adjoining states such as Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, U.P. and also remote areas like Assam, Orissa etc.
- The cornerstones of “Maharaja Agrasen Hospitals are its unstinting focus on clinical excellence, affordable costs, technology and forward-looking research & academics. “Maharaja Agrasen Hospital is one of the first few charitable hospitals; those are run by the trust in the world to get JCI and also the first “Non- Medical Collage to get UNESCO Chair in Bioethics, Haifa” The organization embraced rapid advancement in medical equipments worldwide. Soon the “Maharaja Agrasen Medical University will be launched by “Maharaja Agrasen Group and it will serve over thousands of people.
- Maharaja Agrasen Hospital is providing round the clock services in the department of Imaging, Laboratory, Accidental & Emergency and Critical care ambulance. The department of Radiology is equipped with state of the art latest 1.5 Tesla MRI for whole body screening, Spectroscopy, Angiography & CSF flow studies, Multislice CT Scanner with pressure Injector with facilities for CT guided FNAC, Angiography, etc. 3-D & 4-D Color Doppler, 3D Mobile C-Arm System, Digital OPG, X-ray with CR System, Image Intensifier, Bone Densitometer and Mammography etc. This hospital can boast of a fully automated computerized Laboratory with facilities for Histopathology, Cytology, Microbiology, Serology, Hematology and Biochemistry. The Blood Bank is equipped with latest state of the art equipments to collect and process whole Human Blood along with various blood components including facilities for plateletpheresis. Hospital is providing most advanced treatment and care for Cardio-vascular disease and coronary ailments including facilities for Angiography, Angioplasty and By-pass Surgery , Neuro- Surgery & Gastroenterology, Joint Replacement etc. by a team of reputed medical professionals & the services are comparable to those found in most advanced countries of the world.
- Hospital has a state-of-the-art Labour Room cum Neonatal Nursery complex fully equipped with the latest Monitors, Ventilators, Cardiac Tachometers and a number of other equipments to monitor high-risk pregnancies and deliveries. The Neonatal and Pediatric Nursery is one of the best in Delhi. Besides this an Infertility Centre (IVF center for Test tube Babies) has been developed with latest equipments and providing best facilities for the couples to have children by artificial methods.
- Hospital has a Dialysis unit with 30 Dialysis machine working in 4 shifts. More than 2000 dialysis are being carried out every month. The Dialysis unit also offers facility for Haemodialysis CAPD and CRRT.

The hospital is functioning on no profit / no loss basis wholly support by voluntary contribution / donation from the Trust members and as well as the general public. All the office bearers of the Trust are doing honorary work in the hospital and no remuneration is paid to any of them. It is pertinent to mention that second project of the Trust “An 80 bedded multispecialty Hospital” at Dwarka has started its operations and running successfully. This Hospital caters to the densely populated Dwarka sub city near the international airport, New Delhi.
